history. And now, with the outcome of the Reginald Denny riot-beating trial, some no doubt will blame her for promoting violent crime.
On Tuesday, the victorious defense team in the Denny trial credited jury consultant Jo-Ellan Dimitrius with shaping a panel that made the verdicts possible.
"She's definitely had an effect on the outcome of this case," said Wilma Shanks, one of the attorneys representing defendant Damian Williams.
"She's just that good."
Harland Braun, the attorney for a police officer who was acquitted in this year's federal Rodney King beating trial, agreed: "She helped us pick a jury where there was a possibility of a hung jury."
