(b. 1 October in Detroit, Michigan; d. 8 May in Los Angeles, California), stage, screen, and television actor who established himself with his film role opposite Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s () and was the star of several popular television series.
Peppard was the only child of George Peppard, Sr., a building contractor, and Vernelle Rohrer, a voice teacher and opera singer.
His parents were in their forties when he was born, his mother having had five miscarriages before him.
