Thai Viet G, was born as Thai Minh Ngo on September 11, 1983 in Nashville, Tennessee to mother Nga Huynh. He is the middle of three brothers. He is also half Thai, half Vietnamese.

Growing up, his father left the family and his mother was left to raise three boys on her own.

This memory scarred Thai. His mother was constantly struggling to make a living and put food on the table. Thus, Thai and his family were constantly moving around. He has lived in San Jose, California and Portland, Oregon.

The horrible memory of his father leaving him and the addition of constantly moving, made Thai turn to Asian street gangs.

Thai struggled throughout his youth and did not realize the reality of his mistakes even after being arrested twice.
