Daniel Gray Reid (August 1, 1858 – January 17, 1925)[1] was an American industrialist, financier, and philanthropist.
Early in his career he manufactured tin plate with The American Tin Plate Company, and later U.S. Steel. He was known as the "Tinplate King".[2]
Early life and education
Reid was born August 1858 in Richmond, Indiana, and is a son of Daniel and Anna (née Dougan) Reid.[1][3] He was a descendant of a Scottish-Irish family.[4] Reid was
